A note about shipping: Due to the difficulty in automated calculation of shipping rates for items that are so varied in size, value and destination, we may occasionally need to send you an invoice for any additional shipping charges. Conversely, if you have been charged substantially more, we will issue a refund. We generally use the United States Postal Service (USPS) for our shipping, both domestic and international. Other services such as FedEx or UPS may be requested, but generally are more costly. We generally ship prints flat, between mutiple layers of double-strength cardboard. Large prints may need to be sent rolled in a strong tube for adequate protection. International purchases (Outside of the U.S.): In January of 2013, the U.S. Postal Service increased its international shipping rates dramatically! We are sorry for these increases. If you would like less expensive shipping, please choose the 'International Economy' shipping option when checking out. The less expensive option does not have an insurance option, so any packages mailed without insurance are entirely at the risk of the buyer. Any loss or damage will not be compensated when you choose an uninsured shipping method. Our normal method of shipping outside of the U.S. is via the United States Postal Service's Priority International Mail. Please note that each individual country defines the limits of insurance coverage for packages sent through the United States Postal Service (USPS). Thus, certain large purchases to certain countries may not have full coverage in case of loss or damage. Such shipments are at the buyer's risk. Likewise, International Economy shipping (while substantially less expensive) does not carry any insurance and is not traceable. While we have never had any problems with this method, if you choose international economy shipping, any loss or damage is not recoverable and is entirely the buyer's risk. If you would like a quote for the less expensive international economy shipping or have any questions about shipping to your country, please contact us. V.A.T. and other charges: Darvill's Rare Prints is not responsible for any customs taxes or additional charges imposed by foreign governments or mail services. Europeans may expect to have to pay customs duties or V.A.T. on shipments over certain amounts. We have recently learned that the Royal Mail in the U.K. has started charging an "International Handling" fee. Please check with your local postal service for details pertinent to your country. In no cases are we expected to know and/or charge for the multiple scenarios of taxes or fees throughout the world. Familiarize yourself with your country's fees and regulations. Thank you. |
