The popularity of the judges in the regular Vanity Fair magazine led to the printing of The Book of the Bench (London, 1909), containing thirty-nine color caricatures of legal personalities reduced to one-third size. Published by J. MacKenzie, LTD in London in 1909, the cartoons were mounted on one page, with facing text.
The size of the caricatures is approx. 5 x 7 inches (varies somewhat), "tipped in" to an approx. 8½ x 11 inch card stock backing. Original text accompanies the print whenever possible. Please click on image below for enlargement.
